Abstract: Innovations in industry-aligned certifications for vocational programs are essential for ensuring students' readiness for the workforce. This study examines the development and impact of industry-aligned certifications on vocational students' career readiness and employability. The objectives are: (1) to identify effective practices in developing industry-aligned certifications, (2) to assess the impact of certifications on student outcomes, and (3) to propose strategies for enhancing certification programs. A survey research design is utilized to collect data from students, educators, and industry professionals. The sample size includes 250 participants selected through purposive sampling. The case study focuses on vocational institutions in Imo State, known for their strong industry partnerships. Findings indicated that industry-aligned certifications significantly improved students' job prospects, skills validation, and employer recognition. However, challenges such as certification standardization and industry relevance were noted. Recommendations included collaborating closely with industry stakeholders, regularly updating certification criteria, and providing pathways for continuous skill development.
